Turmeric – has incredible anti-inflammatory properties ideal for reducing joint pain and soothing arthritis. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It is a very strong antioxidant and has powerful effects to help reduce inflammation. To maximise its benefits, make sure to combine turmeric with black pepper to help enhance the absorption.  

 Rolled oats – provides an excellent source of B Vitamins, Vitamin E and minerals such as magnesium. Oats contain a type of soluble fibre called beta-glucan. This has been shown to help stabilise blood glucose levels and reduce LDL bad cholesterol. Furthermore, the active phytochemicals in rolled oats have been reported to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties that may help reduce chronic conditions.

Ingredients:  

  • 2 medium bananas  
  • 1 ½ cups soy milk   
  • ¼ cup natural yoghurt  
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric (anti-inflammatory ingredient 1) 
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats (anti-inflammatory ingredient 2) 
  • ½ teaspoon grounded cinnamon 
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Manuka honey  
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract  
  • 6 ice-cubes  

 

Method:  

 Add all ingredients into a high speed blend and pulse until smooth.

  1. Divide into two serving glasses.
