Turmeric is the yellow-coloured powder ground from the root of the turmeric plant, and is commonly used in curries.  But it is so much more than a spice to add to food.

It has been traditionally used in Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicine to treat arthritis and other inflammatory conditions for centuries.

If you have tried a turmeric-based anti-inflammatory medicine before, you may have also noticed the word ‘curcumin’ on the label.

Curcumin and curcuminoids are the main active ingredients in turmeric that provide its medicinal properties. However, the amount of curcumin in powdered turmeric is quite low (around 3-6%). And the bioavailability (the amount that can be absorbed into the body) is also low, which is why you won’t reap any therapeutic benefits from sipping a turmeric latte, other than relaxing while you drink it.

Fortunately, a group of talented scientists have been very busy working out a natural way to overcome these issues.

The first step was to ensure that a full spectrum of curcuminoids is extracted from the turmeric, which are usually lost in ordinary turmeric medications.

The second step was to learn how to include tumerones, essential oils that have not only been shown to provide beneficial therapeutic effects, but also enhance the bioavailability and absorption of the other active ingredients.

Finally, although it might seem obvious, it is important to use the best part of the turmeric root, where the active compounds are most concentrated.

Nageze® not only gathers the full spectrum extract with the tumerones and essential oils, it melds it with proprietary BetaSorb® technology to further improve absorption and bioavailability.

Nageze Joint Pain also contains TermiPain®, a proprietary extract of the fruit from the Terminalia chebula tree – another potent natural anti-inflammatory.
